LinuxWorld Expo 2008

Yesterday I went to LinuxWorld Expo, and I was an exhibitor for the Drupal booth.
I went there on the BART (the local subway) with Mike Stewart. When we got there, I had a bit of a problem with getting in - they didn't want to let anyone under 18 in! Luckily, Kieran came and rescued me - he had to file claims saying that they wouldn't sue the venue or LinuxWorld if something happened to me. After that was all done, they got me an Exhibitors pass, and the let me in.
After I got in, I spent a bit of time at the Drupal booth, and then Kieran and I went to the end of Barry's session. I handed out prizes (shirts + Darth Druplicon laptop stickers) to whoever asked questions, as well as answering. Then, there was someone from Linux.com and someone else from LinuxWorld.com and both of them wanted to interview me, so they did.
When we got back, I spent a bunch of time talking about Drupal to people. We had a nice slideshow running off my computer of Drupal sites.
After that, Kieran took me around (I couldn't leave by myself) and introduced me to some people - the Joomla guys, Apress guys, etc. Then we had lunch, looked around some more (and found a web server rack in a truck trailer). Then it was back to the booth.
I spent the rest of the afternoon in the booth talking about Drupal.
Then, I was picked up by my dad's former co-worker, Leon (author of the first PHP book), and his friends. We spent some time in a Starbucks talking about Programming, Drupal, and other things, and then we had dinner.
After that, we went to a PHP meetup - the topic was using PEAR for custom code. We heard from Joe @ Digg about how Digg is going to be using PEAR to deploy small code changes to various components, instead of the whole site at once.
Overall, yesterday was a very fun day. And a gigantic thank-you to Kieran for getting me into the Expo.

Fun Stuff
I enjoyed our conversation as we rode over to Moscone on BART. Still not sure I ever got your fav module.
I'm glad you had a fun day. I did, too. Although, I wish you could have gone out with us and all the Joomla folks after. Now that's when the discussion got interesting.
I'm curious, where's the book review on Lord of the Flies? did you finish? enjoy it? can you write the review in the third person (like you did on your "about" page)?? lol
thanks!
Thanks very much for helping me and answering all my Drupal questions at the expo. Most helpful information I got all day :)
Certificate of Liability
Just to clarify, when you rent a booth at a show like LinuxExpo, you are required to have a certificate of liability to cover the various vendors you are working with.
I was able to work with Show management and LinuxWorld security to get Dmitri in as one of the official exhibitors and not a regular expo visitor.

Darth Druplicon
If I'm there in LA, I'll be sure to ask Kieran for some.
Right on
The BART was a fun little experience.
BTW, I want a Darth Drupalicon pin. Most def.
Do you run a website? Have you heard of Drupal?
Had a great time at the booth with you the other day. Keep up the good work.
