The Odyssey: #26

This piece is part of an ongoing project of mine, about Homer’s Odyssey. I wrote a summary of what happened, then had several friends of mine read it out. I then selected segments of their speech and wrote music accompanying those. This is a segment containing several spoken parts.

The words are:

  • He also heard Elpinor, who had fallen off the roof at Circe’s palace, and wanted to be buried
  • Odysseus and his crew returned to Aeaea to bury Elpinor
  • Odysseus recieved instructions from Circe about the Sirens, Scylla, and Charybdis
  • Odysseus and his crew passed the Sirens, who sing wonderful song luring people to their death.

The instruments are rendered by my music notation program, Sibelius, so they aren’t the most realistic, but they are what I have.

[Edit: new version posted where the voice is more in sync with the instruments]
